Ascend With Support
Our lives inevitably bring us to forks in the road, transformational passages. Often these junctures can feel overwhelming, as if the tools and insight we need seem just out of reach. But even then, there is a way forward. We can move with less effort, which actually keeps us connected to what's most important to us.
I specialize in helping you find your sweet spot, between leaning into the edges of what you think is possible, and riding a pace that is sustainable and enjoyable. The way that is uniquely yours. We all have different rates of change and it's important to discover your natural rhythms, letting them inform the pace and pattern of inspired action.

- A feeling of deep alignment with what's most important to you, weeding through what you’ve been taught is important, vs. what is actually innately and uniquely valuable to you
- Enjoying life right where you are, while still getting clear about what you want and moving toward it
- Increasing ability to make complex decisions with win-win outcomes for everyone around you
- Learning that pleasure is trustable and sustainable to build our lives around
- A shift in the way you look at your life and what you expect of yourself
- Increased confidence in yourself and your capacity to learn and grow, and take on new challenges
About Me
In my earlier life, I was a competitive gymnast, soccer player, and runner. I knew how to push myself past my edges and my body often paid the price. In my later years I could not always find the support or resilience needed to move toward my desires, not believing they were possible, and that took a toll on my body as well. With guidance from my own coaches, I've learned tools to find that fertile middle ground, where there is surprising support, and things move with less effort, as if I'm on a slipstream.
I’ve been a professional certified coach since 2013, and I came into coaching through my natural curiosity. I was raised in a very communal environment, where we spent a lot of time reflecting on the bigger questions of life, talking about what we were learning, and how we were applying these lessons. As I moved to California in later life, I encountered a plethora and self-awareness and exploration tools and dove in head-first. I’ve also been a physical therapist for 15 years and have spent a lot of time observing how we heal from traumatic injuries, move towards health, and cultivate practices and goals that support this. As a physical therapist, I've worked with people who have neurological injury, relearning how to move through developmental sequences we initially learned as babies and toddlers. That has taught me a lot about how the body and brain learn, how we experience fear, and safety. And the way we need to be supported and guided to learn movement at our natural pace, with the least amount of effort (efficiency), while stretching toward what's possible. So the way I work with clients uniquely integrates psychology and neuroscience, and how we inhabit our bodies in the midst of life’s transitions. How we move most seamlessly through our personal evolution. We can be fully present with the transformations that are occurring, so that moving toward our desires and goals becomes full of love and joy. My ApproachThe overall frame of the work we’ll do together is to get clearer and clearer on where you’re going. What are you moving toward, and what’s in the way of that?
The foundational principles we’ll use to get there have the effect of moving with more ease, and natural timing. To do that, we have to move away from pressure.
As your coach, I bring in tools to unwind our allegiance to these pressures.
I help you actively deepen the skill set of sensing your true desires, to move in the most effortless way toward what you actually want. To develop a practice of knowing what connection and aliveness feel like in your small and medium choices, so that you can discern what you want in the bigger decisions. This starts within our sessions, but carries over into your own practice in work and personal life. The order in which we use different processes is something I approach intuitively, but there are basic rhythms and principles we will work with. Before we meet, I have you fill out what I call a wheel of life, asking you to write about your fulfillment level in 8 different areas of your life, how you got where you are, and where you’d like to be. You can fill out as much or as little of this as you want, based on your goals and what you’d like to get out of our coaching process. As I read through this, I’m starting to map out what I see in your inner world. I share my thoughts with you, and together we start mapping it out together:
We work on honing your ability to hear and articulate what you really want, from the deepest part of you, and how to watch that come to fruition, with little interference and effort. To distinguish between the internal voices of what you should be doing, or what the people and world around you feel like they’re pressuring you to do, vs. what you actually want. Because what you truly want will nourish you, and be the best thing for those around you. Part of my role as coach is to stand beside you and help you discern the difference between those two voices. And that can often be harder than it sounds. So we track along the way what the results are as you take steps toward nourishment, and integrate this learning to support clarity in the supportive steps forward from where you currently stand. Nuts and bolts:
Everyone is unique, and our work together could include all of these elements, or focus on a few that line up with your situation. |
